And Bamm 2 (update)

I talked to Jason Ryan and showed him some of my recent animations ... he really liked them, especially my Push/Pull animation. He gave me helpful critiques to improve my animations. He also said: "Amrit, your animation has a lot of spark!" cool... :) This is really encouraging to hear from a great animator! Thanks Jason.

I also showed him my And Bamm! 2 animation and he gave me some awesome critiques. So, I followed Jason's advice and made some major changes in my animation. Check it out and let me know what you think.

By the way, for those of you who don't know Jason Ryan, he was working as a supervising animator at Walt Disney Feature Animation and now he is working for Dreamworks Animation. Also, Jason is one of the original legendary AnimationMentor mentors from when the program first started. He'll soon be releasing his new animation tutorials. And I'm not gonna miss the opportunity. So, if you wanna learn animation (basic, or super advanced) head to his site and get subscribed to his newsletters.

Well, here's the update...

Hi there,

Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it.

First of all I would like to tell you that I went up to Your Personal BLOG and to my horror, discovered that you've copy pasted some parts my Animomania Workflow Tutorial without taking my permission and mentioning my name anywhere! I'm sure that your intentions are good, but you gotta mention my name somewhere because Animomania Workflow Tutorial is my copyrighted possession. And if you wanna use it in any way, you have to take my permission first. Right now, it looks like this has been written by you, which is certainly not true.
So please, correct it as soon as possible by mentioning my name somewhere as an author, and everything is well. :)

There is no such thing as Maya animation or Maya jump animation. Animation is just animation, it doesn't matter if you're making it with a pencil or Maya or clay or whatever. For me, Maya is nothing more than a high-tech computerized pencil. So, in order to make a jump in Maya, you'll first have to learn animation. Do a lot of bouncing ball animations, play with flour-sack, learn posing, do a lot of life/gesture drawing (that certainly helps in posing). So, concentrate on learning the art of animation, and please don't link 'animation' to Maya! Animation has nothing to do with Maya. I love Maya because Maya is just a place (consider it as a room) for me in my computer, where I put all my thoughts together and give them a better shape.
So, go ahead and learn animation, enjoy the art. It feels great to see your drawings moving and having a strong sense of life.
Have fun! Good luck. :)
